Balmain sneakers in white and gold

Thought I would give these a try as they were on mega sale. They are plain in Balmain’s standard, but still a little flashy tbh. I figured my jeans should cover most of the shoes anyway so why not. They seem comfortable, buy one size up however as they run small to size.

Decided I would join the combat boot brigade (see what I did here lol) but wanted something a bit more feminine. These fit the bill perfectly. They even have velvet laces! I get more use of these than my other stupid ankle boots with heels. Buy half size up.

I like my first pair of Valentino sneakers so much I am getting a second pair in different colour.

Added review Nov 2024: wore these at a 30k -step-a-day Osaka trip and they proved to be extremely comfortable. My feet and legs were still dying but no way as bad as my companion’s feet (she had chanel sneakers). 

Christian Louboutin Pigalle Bazin pumps 100mm in multicolor patent

Another pair of Pigalle. The multi-color orange print is actually more difficult to pair than I thought.  Jeans or black i think. :-) Official color is pompadour. Buy half or one size up.

Valentino sneakers in white and baby pink

My first pair of designer sneakers....they don't feel any more comfortable than Adidas, but they feel quite luxurious. And they look a lot less scruffy then my usual sneakers.  I prefer white "hidden" studs as suppose to metal ones.  Less is more!  True to size (surprisingly)!

Sophia Webster for J. Crew 100mm ankle strap sandals in white and green

These are so much fun! Love the color combination and the mixture of fabric and leather.  They even have hot pink soles! Perhaps others don't want fun and that's how they ended up in the outlet.  I have never had Sophia Webster shoes before and they don't feel entirely supportive and comfortable. Maybe it is a cheaper line collaborating with J. Crew? True to size.

Rupert Sanderson Ariel pumps 100mm in black and white leather

My first pair of Ariel.  The footbeds are very roomy and comfortable, typical Rupert Sanderson fit.  I also like the curvy vamp, the little details make all the difference on the feet.  Buy half size up.

Chanel sandals in black and white

More sandals!  I must be ageing as I have now so many pairs of flat sandals.  Love everything about these: the designs, the Chanel chains, and the tactile checker fabric. They are comfortable too.  Buy half size up.

Kate Spade ankle straps 95mm in zebra-print pony hair

Again the fitting seems a little off but at least the comfort level is acceptable.  I have to be careful what to wear with them as the zebra print at the back of the shoes are getting a bit messy and I think my jeans did it.  True to size.

Kate Spade slingbacks 95mm in black and white fabric

They had to be my most playful pair of shoes so far.  Love the whimsical details.  I think they would look really good with a simple 50s-inspired dress.  They are the type of shoes which you can just sit and stare at forever, just to take in all the details.  The only problem - which is quite a fundamental one - the sling backs don't stay on very well.  It's quite embarrassing to have to pull the straps up every few meters.  I don't know why I kept buying Kate Spade shoes when they prove to be uncomfortable time after time.  Sort out your fitting please Kate Spade!  True to size.

Colkorle wedge slides 100mm in black floral fabric

It's a made-up brand sold locally in Shanghai and they are really cheap (a little more than US$10). They are reasonably comfortable and they seemed well made. Buy one size down.

Yves Saint Laurent ankle straps 100mm in white/black/grey/blue leather

The color scheme and design totally caught my eyes. Love the details on stitching and color combination. Extremely comfortable despite all those straps. I think these are the best of YSL! True to size.

Manolo flip-flop slides 55mm in white leather and metal ring details

I like how well the round metal ring is shaped to the contour of the top of the feet. I don't like the way my toes spread, but I think it's more of a case with flip-flops and not Manolo in particular. The kitten heels are a good option to flat flip-flops when you want to look less scruffy.

Jimmy Choo flip-flop slides 70mm in white leather

These stay on so much better than the regular flip-flops - the extra strap across the front works! The color, the causal height and design make them go with pretty much everything. Great pair of shoes to have in the summer! True to size.

These shoes are even more difficult to match my closet content than the simpler criss-cross pair. Funky, yes but way too busy looking. I don't know what I was thinking at the time. The few times I wore them they lived up to the Jimmy Choo comfort level though. True to size.

I can see these getting a lot more use if I lived in Miami or something, where people just hang out by the pool all day looking beautiful. (Or have I watched too many CSI Miami episodes?) I was worried about the vinyl but they are comfortable and surprisingly soft. True to size.

Kate Spade ankle straps 105mm in black/white/fuchsia satin

Love the colors, love the little bow, love the straight, clean-cut heels. Don't like the fit, even though they are already a lot better than the usual Kate Spade, they still hurt my feet a little. The straps feel so stiff! True to size.
