The reason

I love shoes, and I can't bare to see them perish. When the buckles on my wedding shoes started to rust I thought it's time to do something about it. From now on the shoes might be gone but the appreciation continues!

Nine by Savannah Miller ankle boots 80mm in grey suede

Bought these in the middle of the summer in a sale in Debenhams for £15!  Had never heard of Savannah Miller but a little googling said that Savannah is the sister of Sienna Miller and the collection is designed exclusively for Debenhams.  Having a quick look at the department store's website now and there are some pretty trendy ankle boots at affordable prices - on sale as well for less than £18! Whoa!  No wonder the store is not making profits.

The shoes go up by full sizes and I had to buy a size up.  I had a feeling that sizing was not very consistent - I tried on multiple pairs in same size to pick the one that fit the best.  Still there isn't a lot of arch support and as a result my feet push forward when I walk.  To get leather and wooden heels I can't really ask for much more at this price.  Buy next size up.

Rupert Sanderson Tress knee-high boots 80mm in grey suede

Bought these back in 2015 but kept forgetting to post them. I like the look and the comfort level, even though they are a size too big for me.  I somehow decided to go a size bigger in case they are too snug.  I was wrong but its not a big problem with insoles. They still have pretty good arch support.  However perhaps it is the very reason that the calves are quite big also?  They meant to be slouchy but the right foot would slide all the way down when I walk.  I have put extra paddings inside but to no avail.  It is quite a nuisance.  True to size.

Sam Edelman ankle boots 65mm in grey suede

Had not heard of Sam Edelman before but they were on clearance on netaporter.  Wasn't sure about the tassels and the fit either, then again for £35 I thought why not.  I have to say they totally exceeded my expectations.  The fit seems quite nice and they seem comfortable.  The tassels actually look good too. Workmanship wise they are on par with the price point on sale.  Would not have paid full-price.  Looking forward to winter.  True to size.

Rupert Sanderson platform slingback 125mm in grey lizard

These are hot.  Love the height and the shape of the heels.  I feel special when I have them on.  Unfortunately they are not very comfortable as they don't stay on very well.  Perhaps platforms and slingback don't mix. True to size.

Chanel ballerina flats in grey and black leather

A welcoming departure from the recent sportier collection, these shoes have the softest leather in the world.  Love the elegant bow and two-tone arrangement.  Don't think they will stand up to the rain though.  True to size.

Miu Miu bicolor pumps 105mm in black and grey patent

My first ever pair of Miu Miu. The verdict?  They rub a bit at the back and they are most certainly not as comfortable as Louboutins.  I do love the very-Chanel-two-tone design, and the shape is nice.  And the hidden platforms make walking possible with 105mm heels. True to size.

Tod's ballet flats in grey suede

Finally I got a pair of the legendary Tod's ballet driving shoes.  I came across them at Harrod's sale and thought why not?  I am usually quite weary of these curl-up elastic shoes as they tend to cut into the heels too much.  These seem perfectly OK though as there are no elastics at the back.  The comfort level lives up to the Tod's reputation.  And I like how there are dots at the back of the shoes so that they won't get scuffed by some of the rougher driving mats.   Buy half size up.

Bebe mid-calf boots in grey fur

I should think the color is actually more salt and pepper.  I came across these when I was looking for the sold-out UGGS fur boots.  Love the smooth rabbit fur, too bad the boots are starting to get bald patches.  It's hard to retire them as they have been my best friend for the last 4 or 5 winters.

Marc Jacobs ankle boots 105mm in grey patent leather

Love the bow details. With the 10mm platform the height doesn't seem to be an issue anymore and they are fairly comfortable to walk with for long periods of time.  Buy one size up.

Yves Saint Laurent ankle straps 100mm in white/black/grey/blue leather

The color scheme and design totally caught my eyes. Love the details on stitching and color combination. Extremely comfortable despite all those straps. I think these are the best of YSL! True to size.
