I saw a lovely green version with Mary Jane straps and slightly lower heels in the shop a while ago. Wasn’t sure how wearable Mary Jane would go with my age and therefore left them. Came across these on the website and managed to get the duty free at LHR to order and mail them to me. With the VAT off they are almost 30% off the retail in HKG. Interesting! I was never buying Gucci shoes again because of previous experiences but I had decided to give these a try. Despite the block heels and relatively low height, they hurt my feet quite a bit after 3 hours of standing around at a party. Had to take them off when we walked to the uber pick up. Will test them again.
The reason
I love shoes, and I can't bare to see them perish. When the buckles on my wedding shoes started to rust I thought it's time to do something about it. From now on the shoes might be gone but the appreciation continues!

Channeling the Gate bag design, these are comfortable and versatile. Can’t fault them. True to size.

Salvatore Ferragamo Arezzo block-heel pumps 80cm in purple suede
It's been a while since the last time I bought Ferragamo shoes. I had a couple pairs of ballerinas during my pregnancies and got so sick of them after. I happened to be in the shop to look at ties and spotted them. They come in many different colors from the regular black to vibrant pink, orange, blue and even mirror silver and gold. At the end it was down to coral/orange or purple, and I went with the brighter purple. They look and fit nicely and they add a casual vibe to dresses. And you can spot them from 3 blocks away! I wish the heels are not as chunky but I guess they are the key to keep the look casual. Buy half size up.
Nine by Savannah Miller ankle boots 80mm in grey suede
Bought these in the middle of the summer in a sale in Debenhams for £15! Had never heard of Savannah Miller but a little googling said that Savannah is the sister of Sienna Miller and the collection is designed exclusively for Debenhams. Having a quick look at the department store's website now and there are some pretty trendy ankle boots at affordable prices - on sale as well for less than £18! Whoa! No wonder the store is not making profits.
The shoes go up by full sizes and I had to buy a size up. I had a feeling that sizing was not very consistent - I tried on multiple pairs in same size to pick the one that fit the best. Still there isn't a lot of arch support and as a result my feet push forward when I walk. To get leather and wooden heels I can't really ask for much more at this price. Buy next size up.
Rupert Sanderson Tress knee-high boots 80mm in grey suede
Bought these back in 2015 but kept forgetting to post them. I like the look and the comfort level, even though they are a size too big for me. I somehow decided to go a size bigger in case they are too snug. I was wrong but its not a big problem with insoles. They still have pretty good arch support. However perhaps it is the very reason that the calves are quite big also? They meant to be slouchy but the right foot would slide all the way down when I walk. I have put extra paddings inside but to no avail. It is quite a nuisance. True to size.

Frye Camilla knee boots 80mm in brown distressed leather
Totally bought these because they were on sale. They seem pretty well made, and the fit seem ok when tried on. The shearling lining and rubber soles hold be good for wet and cold weather. True to size.

Alaia Grenat ankle boots 80mm in burgundy suede
My very first pair of Alaia. It's trying to impress from the moment you get the shoe box - or should I call it a shoe trunk. The shoes themselves were very well crafted, and the last extremely comfortable and snug. Love how well fitted they are around my ankles too. Buy one size up.

Fendi platform wedge 80mm in beige patent
I came across these shoes a couple of seasons ago and I didn't quite like the colour combinations. I think they were gold patent with born elastics? I did remember how comfortable they were and so when I saw them again in spring colours I took them home. Glad I picked beige over candy orange. Beige goes with everything! Buy half size up.
Rupert Sanderson Nada pumps 80mm in mystic pink patent
I love the colour and I thought I would give them a try. I have to say I am still unsure about super pointy shoes. They tend to make my feet look bigger than they are? Buy half size up.
Rupert Sanderson Patsy 80mm pumps in navy patent
These are my latest best friend. They are so comfortable I can walk in them all day and night. Love the slightly pointy toes. Official colour is navy but it's so dark it would pass off as black. Buy half size up.

Marc Jacob slides 80mm in gold leather
These were my best friend at one point. They are extremely comfortable and they go with many skirts and dresses. Since I'm all pants and shorts these days I've since retired these shoes to my shoe closet. True to size.
