Note to self: stop buying ankle boots! These must have sat in the cabinet brand new for over 2 years. I think part of me always want to glam up the dreadful winter wardrobe but ankle boots clearly are not the answer. Besides, I feel like we are permanently stuck in covid athleisure now. Sad. Buy one size up.

Pedro Garcia pumps 90mm in black glitter

I came so close to throwing these out but decided to keep them. I like the glitter but I can't rave about the shape.  Maybe they can be my rainy shoes.  Buy half size up.

Alexander Neel slingbacks 90mm in metallic brown leather

One of the two pairs of Alexandra Neel shoes I bought and probably the last two.  They hurt my feet so much it's not true.  One of the knots is just not done properly and it pushes dead into my toe and the pain is excruciating.  It's a shame as the other shoe feels very comfortable.  True to size.

Jimmy Choo sandals 90mm in black satin and crystals

I gave these away and I must say I do regret it from time to time.  I miss them.  Love the crystal arrangement but they are just way too big for me.  They were on sale and I bought them half a size too big.  Usually it wouldn't have mattered but these were just slouching around too much and it got quite annoying when the crystal strands at the back kept sliding under my feet. Buy half size down.

Chanel slingbacks 90mm in black satin

Classic evening shoes with elegant Chanel CC in pearl details.  I thought I would get quite a lot of use of them but I guess I don't go out too often in the evenings.  And if I have to nitpick they are not quite high enough to look va-va-vroom, but the up side is that they are extremely comfortable and the straps stay on nicely.  True to size. 

Celine peep-toe pumps 90mm in navy burgundy leather

Same shoes in navy and burgundy. I could not decide which color to get so I ended up getting both.  I did not get these half size up and which they look better in the toe compartment it gets a bit pinchy if I walk for a long time.

Celine peep-toe pumps 90mm in beige and brown leather

These shoes were my best friend when I had to wear suits to work everyday.  The leather is quite stiff but they are fairly comfortable to the feet if you buy half size up.  However half-size up leads to another problem of having a bit too much room at the front.  They are not perfect at all but still I feel they are good value for the US$200 I paid.  Somewhere down the line Celine shoes got crazily expensive and I wonder what the quality is like these days? 

Fornarina ankle boots 90mm in brown suede

I got these when I was 3-month pregnant. They are easy to slip on and off and they seem pretty sturdy and supportive. Not the best-made shoes in terms of workmanship and shape but comfy enough. True to size.

Love the romantic soft pink, and the slightly transparent fabric adds to the whole feminine theme as well. True to size.

Nine West sling backs 90mm in blue/rainbow patent/fabric

I think they are possibly the best-looking Nine West shoes in this world. Love the clever use of colors and materials in design. Very Paul Smith as well. The down side - horrible fit. The straps cut into my feet and the sling backs with scratchy elastics feel too tight too. Still I am willing to put up with pain The things we do for shoes. True to size.

L.K. Bennett wedge pumps 90mm in purple/gold suede/leather

These are so comfortable you can probably wear them at a marathon! Love the slim, non-chunky wedge heel design. Don't like the chunky looking front. I think they would look sexier if more toes are shown. True to size.

L.K. Bennett Shilo pumps 85mm in red leather with snakeskin print

They are not the most comfortable shoes as the leather seems unusually stiff. It's just not the same quality as Louboutin or Choo but I guess you get what you pay for. I would not pay full price (₤145) as I feel that it's too expensive for what you get. I got them on sale 40% off and it's just about what I'm willing to pay for them. Sizing is a little strange as they only go up in full size and while size 36 was a little pinchy for me the next size up was way too big.

Kate Spade ankle straps 90mm in tri-color satin

When I saw them for the first time I was instantly in love. I did not care whether they'd go with my wardrobe. Well. They don't. I think I wore them once or twice in the 8 years I had them. And I have to say the fit is not very nice at all, with the front straps cutting into my feet. It's not serious to a point where it would draw blood but it's uncomfortable enough. How did they manage to make satin so hard? True to size.

I absolutely adore the color and the usual Choo high-quality finish. However the front straps are really tight and they hurt my feet! A real shame. Buy half size up.

Alexandra Neel sling backs 90mm in blue satin

They have the most captivating peacock blue color. Love the bow details as well. While they seem very well made they hurt my feet so much that I do not wear them unless I know I will be sitting down. My sister have the exact same pair and they hurt just as much. Someone told me they were manufactured in the same factory as Jimmy Choo but I seriously doubt it! True to size.

Simple and classic, I knew I could keep them for years to come. I wish the heels were higher. True to size.

They were once a point of time my most trusty shoes. They are good to walk in (we are talking about some serious shopping) and they look good for partying. The usual excellent Jimmy Choo fit and and finishing. What else could one ask for? True to size.

Manolo d'orsay 90mm in gold leather

Propelled by the whole SATC craze these shoes were THE IT shoes at the time. And that's when I made a mistake of buy them even though they were half a size too big. Despite the extra padding I added on the back of my heels they were still too big. That aside I do like the way the straps are constructed. And they are very comfortable and certainly go with a lot of styles. I am not sure why they seem to get worn out more quickly than any of my other shoes. True to size.

Manolo sandals 90mm in gold lizard skin

The texture feels very exquisite and I absolutely love the design, which makes ankles look very dainty. The only issue I have with these is that I can't seem to stop my feet from sliding forward. And when it happens the straps give too much tension. Consider 90mm is really not too high so maybe the centre of balance is off? True to size.
