I wanted some basic black slingbacks and bought these as I thought what could go wrong with Manolos? Well in this case quite a lot. My feet can't seem to stay in place when I have these on. The centre of balance seems to be off. The leather on the back of one of the slingbacks is also coming off after a couple of wears. Disappointing as I certainly expected a bit more from Mr. Blahnik! True to size.
The reason
I love shoes, and I can't bare to see them perish. When the buckles on my wedding shoes started to rust I thought it's time to do something about it. From now on the shoes might be gone but the appreciation continues!

Manolo flip-flop slides 55mm in green snakeskin
The black and green pair are so comfy I thought it'd be nice to have an extra pair, and snake skin seemed a nice twist. How wrong. Somehow this particular snakeskin feels very coarse and the straps are quite rough as a result. What a waste!
Manolo flip-flop slides 55mm in green and black leather
They are perfect for resort and holiday wear. They stay on reasonably well as well as far as flip-flop slides go. The straps fit really well as well. True to size.

Manolo slides 60mm in green patent
Leather is supple, comfortable height. Can walk forever with them on. Too bad I don't get to use them too often these days.
Manolo strappy sandals 95mm in neon yellow leather
These shoes are still brand new and they have been sitting in my cabinet for 4 years at least. The color is tricky and I don't seem to wear anything short (which I think would go with strappy sandals). That aside the leather is the softest there is available to mankind, it makes 95mm of height seems nothing. How do they do it? Trues to size.

Manolo flip-flop slides 55mm in white leather and metal ring details
I like how well the round metal ring is shaped to the contour of the top of the feet. I don't like the way my toes spread, but I think it's more of a case with flip-flops and not Manolo in particular. The kitten heels are a good option to flat flip-flops when you want to look less scruffy.

Manolo very strappy sandals 95mm in gold leather
I was really worried about the clear vinyl straps before the first extended wear. It turns out they were really soft and comfortable to the feet after all. Unfortunately I only got to wear these once before I totally destroyed the heels. My best friend and I thought it would be a good time to do some pole dancing on stage that night. And the stage had metal-grid flooring. Ooops! At least we had a great time. Maybe it is time to say goodbye to them since I don't think they can be fixed. True to size.
Manolo ankle straps 95mm in orange leather
I suspect these are made with lambskin as they are the softest leather I've seen. Love a few things about these: the intricate strap design, the contour-cut ankle straps, and the fact that they fit like gloves. The darker orange shade makes it pretty unique but still easy to pair with different outfits. True to size.
Manolo d'orsay 90mm in gold leather
Propelled by the whole SATC craze these shoes were THE IT shoes at the time. And that's when I made a mistake of buy them even though they were half a size too big. Despite the extra padding I added on the back of my heels they were still too big. That aside I do like the way the straps are constructed. And they are very comfortable and certainly go with a lot of styles. I am not sure why they seem to get worn out more quickly than any of my other shoes. True to size.

Manolo sandals 90mm in gold lizard skin
The texture feels very exquisite and I absolutely love the design, which makes ankles look very dainty. The only issue I have with these is that I can't seem to stop my feet from sliding forward. And when it happens the straps give too much tension. Consider 90mm is really not too high so maybe the centre of balance is off? True to size.
