The reason

I love shoes, and I can't bare to see them perish. When the buckles on my wedding shoes started to rust I thought it's time to do something about it. From now on the shoes might be gone but the appreciation continues!

Jimmy Choo Rome sneakers in brown

The official color is caramel. Not really a brown-shoe person usually but I thought these would work well in the winter. Buy one size up.

Dubarry chelsea riding boots in brown leather

I bought these to wear around the country side, and perhaps the odd drop off to the riding stables. My daughter actually ended up borrowing them to do some actual riding. Got my moneys worth. :) True to size.

Loewe Gate wedge sandals 80mm in brown leather

Channeling the Gate bag design, these are comfortable and versatile. Can’t fault them. True to size.

Victoria Beckham sandals 85mm in brown leather

My second pair of Beckham shoes. At 85mm the lack of arch support isn’t too noticeable. Buy half size up.

Sophia Webster for J. Crew 100mm ankle strap sandals in white and green

These are so much fun! Love the color combination and the mixture of fabric and leather.  They even have hot pink soles! Perhaps others don't want fun and that's how they ended up in the outlet.  I have never had Sophia Webster shoes before and they don't feel entirely supportive and comfortable. Maybe it is a cheaper line collaborating with J. Crew? True to size.

Frye Camilla knee boots 80mm in brown distressed leather

Totally bought these because they were on sale.  They seem pretty well made, and the fit seem ok when tried on.  The shearling lining and rubber soles hold be good for wet and cold weather.  True to size.

Aquazzura Karlie wedge sandals 110mm in brown suede

My very first pair of Aquazzura and I was not disappointed.  They are very well-made and they fit nicely.  Unlike most wedges and espadrilles, they make my feet look very dainty and streamlined. True to size.

Porronet sandals in blue leather

Another pick from the neighbourhood shoe shop in Madrid.  The design came in four to five different colour combinations and I thought blue looks more holiday like, as in beach and sand.  They are quite comfortable and if I am ever back to Spain again I would look out for more.  True to size.

Lola Rey sandals in beige leather

Shoe shopping in Spain!  Summer in Madrid and there were sandals everywhere.  I found these in a very local area at a neighbourhood shop next to a food market.  Prices were very reasonable and choices overwhelming.  At the end I settled for something simple and versatile.  The padded soles are an extra bonus.  True to size.

Notes:  the sandals just fell apart after my third or fourth wear!  The t-straps simply came apart, at different spots too.  Luckily I had some backup shoes in the car and I was only 2 blocks away.  Disappointing!

Ipanema sandals in orange and gold

These sandals have become my best friend over the summer.  They are so comfortable and easy to slip on and off.  I wish I had bought the other colour. Buy half size up.

Christian Louboutin Almeria 125mm wedge espadrilles in brown leather

I was not 100% sure about these when I saw them as they are wedges.  I bought them anyway as they were on this crazy sale.  I am glad I bought them as I wear them all the times now, even when I go on holiday as they are so comfortable.  They look a lot better on as they have the usual Loboutin delicate and tapered footbeds.  The colour is very versatile too.  Maybe I have changed my mind about wedges!  True to size.

Louboutin Beauty pumps 100mm in brown leather

Louboutin has taken toe cleavage to a new level with these shoes.  Love the little innocent good-girl bow, which is a nice contrast to the subtle but naughty shallow toe compartment.   Am I reading too much into my shoes?  Maybe.  To me these are beautiful as poetry.    I have yet to find out whether they stay on as well as regular shoes.  Maybe it's my wardrobe, I find brown a little tricky to match.   Official color is cognac. True to size.

Louboutin No Prive sling backs 125mm in brown suede and cork

I don't think I can get tired of No Prive. I love the way the shape my feet.  And it's just amazing how 125mm can actually be wearable.  I had them on up and down the subway then stood all night for drinks one evening and my feet were fine.  They are the ultimate party shoes!   Buy half size up.

Prada biker boots in brown sheepskin

I had been looking for a pair of biker boots forever and was most delighted when I found these at the legendary Harrods Boxing Day Sale!  At half priced you can't really go wrong.  Cosy and warm, they are my favorite boots for last winter and probably many winters to come.  True to size.

Alexander Neel slingbacks 90mm in metallic brown leather

One of the two pairs of Alexandra Neel shoes I bought and probably the last two.  They hurt my feet so much it's not true.  One of the knots is just not done properly and it pushes dead into my toe and the pain is excruciating.  It's a shame as the other shoe feels very comfortable.  True to size.

Celine peep-toe pumps 90mm in beige and brown leather

These shoes were my best friend when I had to wear suits to work everyday.  The leather is quite stiff but they are fairly comfortable to the feet if you buy half size up.  However half-size up leads to another problem of having a bit too much room at the front.  They are not perfect at all but still I feel they are good value for the US$200 I paid.  Somewhere down the line Celine shoes got crazily expensive and I wonder what the quality is like these days?

YKX & Co. mid-calf boots 100mm in brown suede

I bought these at a high street store in Hong Kong.  I guess I was desperate at the time, and I should never have bought them.  They are not very comfortable to walk in and the folding flap never seems to sit right.  The shape of the front seems weird as well.  Am I being picky?

Fornarina ankle boots 90mm in brown suede

I got these when I was 3-month pregnant. They are easy to slip on and off and they seem pretty sturdy and supportive. Not the best-made shoes in terms of workmanship and shape but comfy enough. True to size.
