My very first pair of Alaia. It's trying to impress from the moment you get the shoe box - or should I call it a shoe trunk. The shoes themselves were very well crafted, and the last extremely comfortable and snug. Love how well fitted they are around my ankles too. Buy one size up.
The reason
I love shoes, and I can't bare to see them perish. When the buckles on my wedding shoes started to rust I thought it's time to do something about it. From now on the shoes might be gone but the appreciation continues!

Roger Vivier Belle De Nuit 85mm in burgundy patent
Belle De Nuit in 85mm is a compromise but I feel that just because I need to walk around it doesn't mean I have to trot around in my Birkinstocks? With the new rubber soles these shoes are a lot lighter than the leather version and especially the ones with metal buckles. The insoles are nicely padded too and I have to say they are a lot easier on my feet than the 100mm. Am I getting old? True to size.

Miu Miu knee-high boots 110mm in black and burgundy leather
They are my first pair of knee-high boots in the last 7 or 8 years. Love the chunky curvy heels and round toes. Haven't had a chance to wear them yet because of my bump so we will see how comfortable they are. I saw the same boots in light grey and black in London after I got these (and of course they were cheaper in London) and I am wondering whether grey would be more versatile. It's too late now. True to size.

Louboutin Helmour pumps 100mm in burgundy patent
The official color is called metal. I love how they are practically a mixture of Ron Ron's round toe and Elisa's slender heels, plus an interesting d'orsay design. It wasn't until I tried them on then I realised how challenging they could be. I guess the d'orsay cutout is rather shallow and I can't help but to feel that half my feet are sticking out. The shoe guy assured me that my feet are narrow enough for a good fit and that they look fine. I read on the Louboutin book that the design was an inspiration of Cinderella's shoes. The extra exposure should make one feel sexy like a princess in her glass shoes. Now it's all making sense! Buy half size down.

Louis Vuitton ballet flats in burgundy patent
These have to be the most comfortable pair of shoes in the universe. Yes I said it. You can walk for miles and miles with these shoes and you won't feel it at all. Perhaps the blobs on the soles provide shock absorption? The leather is also extra soft it's like second layer of skin. I am going to have to buy another pair. True to size.

Chanel ballet flts in burgungy patent
Finally, Chanel ballet flats that do not have the usual two-tone design. Not that I dislike the classic signature Chanel design but I think we are all a little bored season after season. These came in burgundy and black and you wouldn't believe they are the same pair of shoes. Somehow black seemed really dull and old looking I didn't have trouble deciding which I was going to get. Love the chain detail and the little dangling CC. True to size.

Prada pumps 95mm in burgundy suede
Vintage Prada, at least 12 years old. They were my first pair of Prada and I loved the clean-cut heels and the simple design. They seem all around too chunky for recent trends but I still like the way they shape up my feet. Will keep these in my closet until chunky comes in fashion again! True to size.
Celine peep-toe pumps 90mm in navy burgundy leather
Same shoes in navy and burgundy. I could not decide which color to get so I ended up getting both. I did not get these half size up and which they look better in the toe compartment it gets a bit pinchy if I walk for a long time.
