Gucci horsebit slingbacks 80mm in beige patent

 I saw a lovely green version with Mary Jane straps and slightly lower heels in the shop a while ago. Wasn’t sure how wearable Mary Jane would go with my age and therefore left them. Came across these on the website and managed to get the duty free at LHR to order and mail them to me. With the VAT off they are almost 30% off the retail in HKG. Interesting! I was never buying Gucci shoes again because of previous experiences but I had decided to give these a try. Despite the block heels and relatively low height, they hurt my feet quite a bit after 3 hours of standing around at a party. Had to take them off when we walked to the uber pick up. Will test them again.

Gucci ankle straps 100mm in black leather

From the same collection as the Gucci sandals in the entry below.   And they are even more uncomfortable as the straps don't provide any support at all.  To demonstrate my toes look like they are screaming in great pain on the picture.  If I remember correctly the straps were originally long enough to wrap all the way up to my knees like gladiator sandals. Not sure if it would have added support.  In any case I trimmed them down to turn them into ankle wraps as I don't like gladiators at all.  True to size.

Gucci strappy sandals 100mm in black leather

These are probably considered vintage as I bought them at least 12 years ago.  Since then I never bought any more Gucci footwear as they are so uncomfortable and I am very reluctant to try more.  Somehow my feet seem to want to slide forward even though the shoes are just 100mm.  And they feel quite difficult to walk in.  Love the simple classic design though.  True to size.
