The reason

I love shoes, and I can't bare to see them perish. When the buckles on my wedding shoes started to rust I thought it's time to do something about it. From now on the shoes might be gone but the appreciation continues!

Louboutin No Prive sling backs 125mm in glitter and gold leather

These shoes are my absolute favourite.   They are the ultimate!  There isn't much more you can ask for with a pair like this.   I think we all want to feel extremely glamorous every now and again.  Buy one size up.

Louis Vuitton ballet flats in burgundy patent

These have to be the most comfortable pair of shoes in the universe. Yes I said it. You can walk for miles and miles with these shoes and you won't feel it at all.  Perhaps the blobs on the soles provide shock absorption?  The leather is also extra soft it's like second layer of skin.  I am going to have to buy another pair.  True to size.

Melissa x Jean Paul Gaultier sandals 100mm in black plastic

I had been eyeballing a number of Melissa x Westwood heels but never found one that I truly like.  I'm glad I waited and waited because the moment I saw these I knew the search was over.  The Gaultier's design has a lot more sex appeal than the quirky Westwood ones.  And I love the clever use of solid and transparent plastic straps.   Apparently these shoes are 100% recyclable.  I was hoping to have these as my rainy-day heels but I'm now having second thoughts.  The sole linings doesn't seem to be plastic but I could be wrong?  Buy one size up.

Prada platform sandals 125mm in beige leather

I was looking for a pair of nude sandals to go with shorts and these seem to fit the bill perfectly.  The thick straps add to the causal look but they have the height to make it dressy at the same time.  The only problem is that the front strap on one shoe tends to rub on my toes to a point which it breaks skin!  A real bummer.  True to size.

Giorgio Armani sling backs 95mm in black leather and elastics

They used to be my trusty date shoes.  I am actually surprised to find out that the heels are 95mm as you don't feel the height at all.  The straps and elastics are also very comfortable (and they stay on!).  True to size.

Marc Jacobs peep-toe pumps 95mm in pink and black leather

I love love love these shoes.  They are so delicately made with so much details it's unlike the usual Marc Jacobs creations.  I can't tell you how soft the leather is.  Usually my toes get sore easily from peep-toe shoes but never with these.  A very special find.  True to size.

Prada biker boots in brown sheepskin

I had been looking for a pair of biker boots forever and was most delighted when I found these at the legendary Harrods Boxing Day Sale!  At half priced you can't really go wrong.  Cosy and warm, they are my favorite boots for last winter and probably many winters to come.  True to size.

Jimmy Choo Edge boots 85mm in navy suede

I bought these years ago and only worn them once since.  I'm not sure what to make of the pom poms but I guess without them the boots would look a bit boring.  Elegant and feminine as per the usual Jimmy Choo style, I can just sit there and look at them all day.  Buy half size up.

Luciano Padovan sandals 110mm in denim-print fabric and red leather

I had not heard of Luciano Padovan before but a search on google suggested that it's pretty big in Italty and it's certainly up and upcoming in Hollywood. A friend of mine actually found these for me from the US and they were marked down to less than a hundred US - great value for the excellent quality of workmanship.  Love the shape, fit, and the details in design.  Buy one size up.

Pedro Garcia pumps 90mm in black glitter

I came so close to throwing these out but decided to keep them. I like the glitter but I can't rave about the shape.  Maybe they can be my rainy shoes.  Buy half size up.

Marc Jacobs ankle straps 105mm in red leather

The retro look makes these shoes timeless on one hand but it's also very difficult to match them with my not-so-retro closet.  Maybe I need more Marc Jacobs quirky girly stuff for my closet.  It is also a shame that I lost one leather strap during a move so the current straps are half the original's length.  Still, they are to stay as part of my collection for years to come. True to size.

L.K. Bennett sling backs 95mm in black satin and leather

These used to be my rainy-day shoes.  They are steady and sturdy enough to stand up in the rain.  And I don't feel bad about them getting wet as they are not very delicate to begin with.  I like the simple no-frill look and they go with everything!  The straps in the front are a bit hard but tolerable.  True to size.

Jimmy Choo sling backs 110mm in red satin

I found these at an outlet and at 1/3 of their usual price I couldn't resist.  The classic Jimmy Choo fit makes 110mm a piece of cake.  What is the secret?  True to size.

Marc Jacobs ankle strap pumps 85mm in black suede

Another pair of dress pumps similar to these but even dressier.  Reliably comfortable, they were the shoes I take with me on business trips.  True to size.

Kate Spade ankle straps 95mm in zebra-print pony hair

Again the fitting seems a little off but at least the comfort level is acceptable.  I have to be careful what to wear with them as the zebra print at the back of the shoes are getting a bit messy and I think my jeans did it.  True to size.

Kate Spade sling backs 105mm in black snake-print leather

Of all the Kate Spade shoes I have these are the most comfortable ones.  Love the fit and the tapered  shape as well, which allow my toes to rest nicely.  They came in gold as well and I wish I had bought them as well.  These are so much better than the usual Kate Spade!  True to size.

Chanel ballet flts in burgungy patent

Finally, Chanel ballet flats that do not have the usual two-tone design.  Not that I dislike the classic signature Chanel design but I think we are all a little bored season after season.  These came in burgundy and black and you wouldn't believe they are the same pair of shoes.  Somehow black seemed really dull and old looking I didn't have trouble deciding which I was going to get.  Love the chain detail and the little dangling CC.  True to size.

Steve Madden platform wedges 115mm in beige canvas

My first pair of Steve Madden and I am glad I did not pay full-price for them.  They are not the most comfortable shoes and it's not because of its height.  At 115mm they are remarkably comfortable for my feet, thanks to the cleverly-angled platforms.  The problem seems to be the canvas straps at the front when they rub into my toes.  I am still quite happy with them as they are what I wanted.  I spent a long time finding a pair of wedges which do not look too chunky and it was harder than I thought!  Buy half size down.

Marc Jacobs ankle strap pumps 100mm in black suede

Simple, comfortable, cute bow details, what more does a girl need?  They were my reliable choice when I had to wear suits to work.  Right now they sit and wait in my shoe closet quietly.  Hopefully I will get to wear them again.  True to size.

Manolo sling backs 95mm in black patent

I wanted some basic black slingbacks and bought these as I thought what could go wrong with Manolos?  Well in this case quite a lot.  My feet can't seem to stay in place when I have these on.  The centre of balance seems to be off.  The leather on the back of one of the slingbacks is also coming off after a couple of wears.  Disappointing as I certainly expected a bit more from Mr. Blahnik! True to size.

Zara ballet flats in green leather

I had a couple of bad experiences with Zara shoes before and while I swear I would not buy any more I fell for these.  I totally fell in love with the color.  The pattern feels very Bottega too.  They feel very light-weight and the leather feels very soft as well.  They are still brand new in my closet I hope they will be comfortable when put to the test.  Buy one size up.

Note:  I finally wore them and within 5 mins of wearing (without excessive walking) the right heel started to rub.  I am never buying Zara again!

Chanel ankle straps 100mm in pink fabric and black patent

These look so cute and interesting I had to have them.  Love the assorted Chanel objects on the fabric.  The soles (where the heels are) are actually made of a hard resin-like material, and it gives a good balance visually with the busy looking front.   Sadly these shoes are still sitting in the box brand-new, as I have too many choices when it comes to pairing a little black dress.  And now I can't help to think maybe I am already too old for something so sweet and cute! Buy half size up.

Alexander Neel slingbacks 90mm in metallic brown leather

One of the two pairs of Alexandra Neel shoes I bought and probably the last two.  They hurt my feet so much it's not true.  One of the knots is just not done properly and it pushes dead into my toe and the pain is excruciating.  It's a shame as the other shoe feels very comfortable.  True to size.

Kate Spade slingbacks 95mm in black and white fabric

They had to be my most playful pair of shoes so far.  Love the whimsical details.  I think they would look really good with a simple 50s-inspired dress.  They are the type of shoes which you can just sit and stare at forever, just to take in all the details.  The only problem - which is quite a fundamental one - the sling backs don't stay on very well.  It's quite embarrassing to have to pull the straps up every few meters.  I don't know why I kept buying Kate Spade shoes when they prove to be uncomfortable time after time.  Sort out your fitting please Kate Spade!  True to size.
